FREE! Career and Technical Training for High School Jrs. and Srs.
The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center opened in January of 2005 to serve high school juniors and seniors in Muskegon County. This 73,000 square foot "world class" training center provides students with the opportunities to ensure their success in both college and careers.
The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (CTC) is located at the corner of Harvey Street and Stebbins Road next to the wind turbine.
The facility boasts a number of innovative features including: geothermal heating and cooling system, wind turbine for producing electricity, solar panels that generate electricity, motion sensors that turn lights and heat pumps on and off when rooms are occupied/unoccupied, sensors that measure the light coming in the windows and dim the interior lights accordingly, and a storm water recovery system.
The CTC site is home to 15 different programs including Allied Health Technology, Auto Collision/Refinishing, Auto Service Technology, Catering & Culinary Management, Computer Aided Design, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Electrical/Computer Technologies, Environmental/Veterinary Sciences, Graphic Production Technologies, Health Science Academy, Internet, Network & Security Technologies, Machining/Engineering Tech, and Welding Technology. (Cosmetology is held at NUVO College of Cosmetology. Construction Trades is also located off-campus on Chestnut Trail in Muskegon.)
